    Thumbs down Needing some advice...

    RC Soup
I have a clodbuster chrome edition (NIB) finally after wanting one when i was 12 now having children of my own, i plan on building multiple clodbusters and maybe a sand scorcher for family passtime. My problem now is there is virtually no tamiya market in my area. my truck has a kit supplied teu-103bk esc and a online purchased (new) spektrum sr300 surface receiver and a spektrum dx3e transmitter that i wouldnt recommend. A futaba S3305 steering servo. A duratrax 3600 7.2v battery. The truck will drive for a short time then freeze and beeping comes from the receiver it wont steer either. this is after about 5 times of it becoming unresponsive, taking off on its own and forcing me to run it down on foot. Im not sure if the esc is burnt up its supposed to have overheating protection suppposedly or if the radio system is junk

My questions are what are some really durable long lasting esc, transmitter and receiver combos that i should look into getting?
Which is a really strong steering servo worth buying? Because im already planning on front and rear servos.
I'm open to any suggestions and hope i can make some friends on here that share the same interest

Hello monstertrucker and welcome to TRCF.

From what I can gather, the Spectrum SR300 receiver is your problem.

Spektrum customer service; Turns out the SR300 ($50) is a sport receiver (ie. a "park flyer" for RC cars/trucks) not a "full range" receiver (especially when using it in a gasoline powered vehicle. Swapping out the SR300 with a SR3100 solved my problem.
Found some SR3100's on ebay for ya.

At Tamiya USA they recommend you...
*Always use a receiver with BEC when operating TEU-103BK. Using Non-BEC receivers may result in malfunction of receiver.

This is the receiver that I use with all the TLU- ESC's...

You can try and re-bind the receiver to the radio again but it may have damage inside the receiver. The problem I saw was that the antenna breaks where it solders to the board. Re-bind it and see if it helps or not first.

Welcome, The beeping would be coming from the ESC not the receiver if you are using a Tamiya ESC. That sound means it is not receiving a signal from Transmitter and is waiting for the signal.

Don't forget to run the ESC through the "setup" procedure outlined in the supplement manual that comes with that ESC.

thanks for the help everybody with the tips. I have a spektrum sr3100 on its way now and hopefully that fixes it. I did rebind it a number of times it worked once or twice.

i just installed the spektrum sr3100 and its doing the same thing, i can throttle it a couple of times then the beeping starts, sometimes the throttle kind of holds longer than it should (I let off and the wheels are still powering for a couple of seconds). but almost everytime i try to turn the wheels it starts beeping from the esc.
    Any ideas?

@awesomERIC there was no esc supplement manual or any paper about a esc setup, I built this truck plugged all the wires in, binded it and have been driving it at least once every two weeks for 5 months. i bought it nib too
